Welcome to my website.

This is the most recent sculpture in my Sporting Dog series. It's working title is "Setter at the window." In the tradition of 19th Century sporting art and dog paintings, it could be called "Waiting for master," and in fact may be by the time it is finished. In creating this piece, I focused on these wonderful paintings of the past, and to them I added my interpretation. Shown here in clay it will be cast in bronze and presented on a base( material yet to be determined).

The process of casting bronze is called "lost wax casting" ( Cire perdue )and for more details on this process, please visit the page I have created in the index, it gives a good overview.

For a limited time I will be offering a pre-casting special on Setter at the Window.

Other offerings on my site include an overall focus on sporting art. Upland game birds, and sporting dogs such as setters, pointers, springer spaniels, and English Cocker spaniels to name a few. Also horses and hounds play a part in this focus and my inspiration.

When I think of sporting art, I think of the countryside. I think of Africa, I think of the Highlands (Scotland) and also I think of the West (United States). A motley crew to be sure, but a source of endless possibilites and inspiration.

So much to do - please check back often and contact me with any questions you might have.

My thanks,

Mo Riley
